YKK and Cooperativa Girasole worked together on the ‘Let’s Work’ project

YKK presents its latest collection AW 20/21 at Premiere Vision between 17th and 19th September at Paris Nord Villepinte. A wide range of zippers including a selection of Excella® items in various functions, finishes and lengths together with snap and button (S&B) products can be found at the YKK booth no. 4D43 4E42  in the Accessories area in Hall 4.

This year a special gift, a clutch bag, has been prepared for early visitors who stop at YKK’s booth.

YKK and non-profit organisation, Cooperativa Girasole worked together on the ‘Let’s Work’ project, a real leather workshop for people with physical and mental disabilities. Together with a team of professionals, the workshop’s artisans worked on the construction of the clutch bags. The main aim of the project is to offer rehabilitation and provide professional training. By experimenting with various techniques for leather processing, attendees acquire useful skills which can lead to job placement. The project also trains counter clerks, gives the chance to work with other manufacturers, helps with the learning of new skills and builds self-confidence.

For the construction of the clutch bags YKK provided zippers, leather recycled from previous trade fairs and its Eco finish buttons, all part of the Cycle of Goodness, YKK’s own philosophy.
